About Me
Welcome to my page; my name is Kate and I am a fully qualified and passionate hypnotherapist registered with the National Hypnotherapy Society.
I believe deeply in helping others, in providing a caring space to allow you to fully express yourself and to finding solutions together. I am a qualified neurolinguistic programming practitioner and training to be a psychotherapeutic counsellor.

I firmly believe that once we come to fully realise the power of our thoughts and gain control over our reactions to external factors, that our lives can be transformed and changed for the better.
Hypnotherapy has personally helped me in my life, after seeing the benefits first hand, I am excited to help you too.

FAQs

What is hypnotherapy? The process of hypnotherapy is simply to become relaxed so that your full concentration can go towards making the changes you want to. Hypnotherapy works as all the suggestions made by the therapist can be fully heard, taken in and understood by your conscious and subconscious mind. Our subconscious can be like a filing cabinet stored full of false thoughts, hypnotherapy can reorganise those files and therefore make significant changes in your life.

How does it work? We will have face to face sessions using Skype or Zoom. If I am in Coventry or Palma at the time, there is the option to have the sessions face to face. There is no "magic trance" in hypnosis and you are aware of what is happening the whole time. Hypnosis is a natural state of being that we go into between 10 to 100 times every day. In our sessions, I will use progressive muscle relaxation, which is the most powerful and natural way to get you relaxed and to connect with the subconscious. Online sessions are as effective as in-person sessions. The key to a successful session is for the therapist to hold a welcoming and safe space that allows the client to simply relax. Changes can be made as daily external factors are shut out, and the conscious and subconscious mind can focus fully on the changes that need to be made. In the first consultation, we talk through the changes you would like to make and I create a treatment plan for you. During each session, we will start with a PMR to get your body totally relaxed and then I will deliver a personalised script. At the end of each session we evaluate how you are feeling and the progress made.

What happens during the consultation? The consultation is one hour long. During this time I get to know you and the exact issue that we will work with. I will ask you questions that will help me to create your unique therapy plan. We will agree on the context of and the length of the therapy plan.

How do I prepare for a session? Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours before a session and avoid caffeine two hours before. For an online session please have: headphones, a strong wifi connection, Skype or Zoom downloaded, a comfy space to sit/ lay down, a blanket, a quiet space to be alone in.

Common Misconceptions "You go into a trance" You do not. You do go into a state of relaxation, the same as if you are watching a good TV show, or happy in a pleasant setting, but you are not in a "trance". "You are not in control, the therapist is". Absolutely not. The therapist guides the session but you are awake and aware the whole time. You can open your eyes and speak at any point. This is your therapy, and you are in control.
